  1. On your Taskbar, right-click over the network icon.

  6. Under the General tab, check the DNS server address your computer is using. Normally, this is set to “Obtain DNS server address automatically.”  
  7. Now, set this option to “Use the following DNS server addresses” and input the following:
    1. Under the Preferred DNS server input 1.1.1.1.
    2. Under the Alternate DNS server input 1.0.0.1.
  8. Click OK on the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click OK again on the Internet Properties window to save this configuration.
  9. Finally, restart your computer.

    %windir%\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore
  3. Press Ctrl + A + Delete to select all files and folders in the DataStore folder.

This will delete all the files in the Windows Update DataStore folder. You can then restart the Windows Update service again and try to run Windows Update again.

Here’s how you can check for Windows Updates:

  1. Press Win Key + I to open Windows Settings.
  2. Go to the Update and Security tiles.
  3. On the left pane, click Windows Update.
  4. Now, click on Check for updates.
  5. Let the system find and download the current updates (if any).
  6. Restart your PC. 

Once you restart your PC, try to access the Microsoft Store app again and see if the error has been solved. 

4] Reset the Microsoft Store app through Windows settings 

If the workarounds above don’t resolve the error 0x800700AA, you may need to reset the Microsoft Store app. To do so, follow the below procedure:

  1. Click Windows start and select Settings.
  2. Select the Apps tile.

  1. Launch the elevated Command Prompt. 
  2. Press the Windows key and type “cmd”.
  3. Select “Run as Administrator”. 
  4. In the elevated Command Prompt, type the following command, then press Enter: wsreset.exe.
  5. Let this command run to completion to reset the Microsoft Store application.

Once this process is complete, restart Windows 10. 

5] Reset Windows 10
