These are the general system requirements for installing Kaspersky on your PC. Read on to find more.

Before installing Kaspersky anti-virus on your PC, you should ensure that it meets the minimum system requirements. Check below for general system requirements.

General requirements

  • 1500 MB of free disk space 
  • Processor with SSE2 support 
  • Internet connection (for installation and activation, participation in the Kaspersky Security Network, as well as database and program module updates) 
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.0 or later
    To access My Kaspersky, we recommend using Microsoft Internet Explorer 9.0 or later 
  • Microsoft Windows Installer 4.5 or later 
  • Microsoft .Net Framework 4 or later
  • Hypervisor protection is not supported on 32-bit operating systems.
  • FAT32 file system is not supported.

Requirements for operating systems

  • 1 GHz processor or faster 
  • 1 GB of free RAM for 32-bit operating systems and 2 GB of free RAM for 64-bit operating systems.

Supported browsers

  • Browsers that support all application features:
    • Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.0, 9.0, 10.0, 11.0 and later*
      Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 8.0 – 11.0 in the new Windows interface style are not supported. Browser extension cannot be installed automatically under Windows 10.

*Support of newer versions of these browsers is possible, but not guaranteed in full.

Kaspersky Anti-Virus supports Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox on 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems. Internet Explorer 11.0 is not supported in the compatibility mode on Microsoft Windows 10 RS5 or later.

Supported versions of Microsoft Office Outlook

The Mail Anti-Virus component is compatible with:

  • Microsoft Office Outlook 2003
  • Microsoft Office Outlook 2007
  • Microsoft Office Outlook 2010
  • Microsoft Office Outlook 2013
  • Microsoft Office Outlook 2016

The Windows Live and Windows Mail email clients included in Windows 7 and Windows 10 respectively are not supported.

Requirements for tablets

  • Microsoft Windows 8, Microsoft Windows 8.1, Microsoft Windows 10
  • Intel Celeron processor at 1.66 GHz or faster
  • 1000 MB of free RAM

Requirements for netbooks

  • Intel Atom processor at 1600 MHz or faster
  • 1024 MB of free RAM
  • 10.1-inch display with 1024x600 screen resolution or higher
  • Intel GMA 950 graphics chipset or later
