How to Install Fonts in Windows 10

Download Windows 10 fonts

Method 1. Open the font

The easiest way of installing individual fonts is by using the built-in font installer. This allows you to install fonts individually by opening the fonts and pressing the Install button.

Download a font. If the font comes in a .zip file, extract it until you find the font itself. The most common file formats for fonts are OpenType (.otf) and TrueType (.ttf).
Double click on the font file to open the preview window.
Click on the Install button in the top-left corner of the window. The font should automatically install onto your device, allowing you to use it in different ways.

Note that in some cases, you’re required to restart an application before you can use newly installed fonts.

Method 2. Install in bulk using manual selection

If you’re installing a lot of fonts at once, this method makes it easier to get them added to your system without having to individually install each font.

Another method of installing fonts is by using the drag and drop method with the classic Control Panel. This is easy and simple.

Press the Windows + R keys on your keyboard. This is going to bring up the Run utility.
Type in “control” and press the Enter key on your keyboard. This will launch the classic Control Panel application.
Make sure to switch your viewing mode to Large icons or Small icons. Afterward, click on the Fonts tab.
Tip: You can also type in Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Fonts to the address bar to quickly navigate to the destination.
Open the folder containing the fonts you want to install in a File Explorer window.
Select all the fonts you want to install, then drag and drop them into the Fonts folder in your Control Panel.

Method 4. Use the Settings app

Similarly, to the Control Panel method, you can also use the Settings app to install fonts in Windows 10.

Open the Settings app by clicking on the gear icon in the Start menu. Alternatively, you can open the app by pressing down the Windows and I keys on your keyboard.
Go to the Personalization tab.
Switch to the Fonts section using the menu in the left side pane. Here, you should see a list of your installed fonts, as well as a drag and drop area for installing new fonts.
Open the folder containing the fonts you want to install in a File Explorer window.
Select all the fonts you want to install, then drag and drop them into the Add fonts area in your Settings app.

Method 5. Install from Microsoft Store

Navigate to Settings → Personalization → Fonts.
Click on the Get more fonts in Microsoft Store link, found directly under the Add fonts drop box.
Select a font you want to install or purchase. On its overview page, click on the Get or Buy button.
The font will automatically download and install on your device. You’ll get a notification once it’s ready to use.
